Design Consultation
We walk your yard, talk through how you’ll use the patio, and measure the space. We discuss style preferences and show you paver and stone samples.
Step 02
Layout & Estimate
We sketch the patio shape and suggest any integrated features. You get a clear written estimate.
Step 03
Site Prep & Excavation
We excavate 6–8 inches below final grade to allow for proper base depth.
Step 04
Base Installation
4 inches of compacted Class II road base over geotextile fabric. This is the step that separates a patio that lasts 25 years from one that shifts and sinks in 5 years.
Step 05
Bedding Sand Layer
1 inch of screeded concrete sand, set to proper grade for drainage (typically a 1–2% slope away from the house).
Step 06
Paver Installation
Pavers laid in the chosen pattern, cut to fit edges, with consistent joint spacing.
Step 07
Edge Restraint
Plastic or metal edging to keep pavers from spreading over time.
Step 08
Joint Sand & Compaction
Polymeric sand swept into joints, plate-compacted into place, and activated with water for a locked, weed-resistant finish.
